As a small business owner, every little detail counts—especially when it comes to branding. Over the past few days, I embarked on a creative adventure, giving my candle business a fresh, updated look. From redesigning my logo card to learning new tools, it’s been a fulfilling (and sometimes challenging) process. Here’s how I did it!
The Decision to Change Things Up
Branding is the first impression customers get, and I wanted my packaging to better reflect the care and craftsmanship that go into my homemade pillar candles. One of the biggest changes I decided on was transforming my logo card into a foldable format—allowing me to include more details, including candle care instructions and safety guidelines.
Using Canva to Redesign the Logo Card
I turned to Canva, my go-to design tool, to create a fresh new look. I updated my logo and refined the overall design to ensure it was clean, professional, and aligned with my brand identity. Playing around with fonts, colors, and layouts was a fun process, and I’m really happy with how the final design turned out!
ChatGPT for Safety Illustrations
To enhance my foldable card, I wanted to include safety visuals to help customers burn their candles safely. Instead of searching endlessly for the right images, I used ChatGPT to generate custom illustrations that represent key safety tips. These AI-generated images perfectly fit my aesthetic and clearly communicate important guidelines.
Printing and Labeling with My Cricut
Once my designs were finalized, it was time to bring them to life! I used my printer to print the new cards, ensuring high-quality colors and clarity. For my updated candle labels, I turned to my Cricut, a game-changer when it comes to precise cutting and professional-looking labels. It took some trial and error to perfect the sizing and material selection, but in the end, I got beautifully cut labels that complement my candles perfectly.
Lessons Learned Along the Way
This whole experience has been an adventure in creativity and problem-solving. I learned:
How small design tweaks can make a big impact on branding.
The power of AI-generated images to enhance my product presentation.
How to better use my Cricut for label-making.
That patience and experimentation are key when updating packaging!
Final Thoughts
Branding isn’t just about looking good—it’s about creating a cohesive and memorable experience for customers. With my new foldable logo card, updated safety visuals, and refined labels, I feel like my candle business has taken another step forward in professionalism and uniqueness.
It’s been a rewarding journey, and I can’t wait to see how customers respond to the new look. Have you ever updated your branding? What was your biggest takeaway? Let me know in the comments!
